From the form to a confirmed day

Booking is done by form and email. This page explains what we need from you, what the written plan contains, how confirmation and payment work, what happens the day before, and how weather, tides and changed plans are handled.

Booking

The steps

  1. 01

    Send the form

The date, how many are travelling, and where you start: a hotel, an airport or a ship.

  2. 02

    We reply by email

With questions if the day needs them, then a written plan with door-to-door times.

  3. 03

    Adjust and confirm

Swap, add or drop parts; every revision comes back with a full new total. Say yes in writing.

  4. 04

    Pay as the quote says

Only to the account shown on the written quote, never to one sent separately.

  5. 05

    The day before

We check the tide, the weather and the roads, and send the final times.

What we need from you

Five short answers on the form open the conversation. Add the following and the first reply can be a plan rather than a list of questions:

  • The date, and whether it can move. A weekday is easier on the roads than a Friday afternoon.
  • Where you start and finish: the hotel name, the airport and flight times, or the ship, berth and all-aboard time.
  • The party: how many adults, any children with ages, and anybody unsteady on steps or in small boats.
  • Luggage, if you are checking out that day. It decides between boat and car.
  • Food: allergies, vegetarian or other needs. Lunch is set in advance, so we need to know.

When you confirm, we ask for passport details for everyone in the party. Boat operators and ports ask for them before departure.

What the written plan contains

  • The hour you leave the lobby or the gangway, every transfer with its expected time, and the hour you are back
  • The vehicle class and the boat type, and confirmation that both are for your party only
  • Where the sampan runs and where lunch is, with the menu
  • For Can Tho, the hotel and the room category
  • The tide and weather points that could change the day, and what we would do instead
  • The price per party, with each line shown separately, and how to pay

Paying safely

Keep card numbers out of email. Your written quote states how payment is made for your trip, and no other account or link is ever ours. A message pointing you anywhere else should be treated as a warning sign: stop, and check with us through the form. Data collected by the form is covered in the privacy policy.

Payment check

An account name or number that differs from your written quote means stop. Ask through the form before sending money.

Weather, tide and the day before

Speedboat days depend on the river. The day before, we check the forecast and the tide for your date and send the final times. If wind or storms make the river unsafe for a small open boat, we offer the car version of the day, a different date, or cancellation on the terms in your written quote. The decision is made the day before wherever possible, so you are not waiting in the lobby for news.

Tide matters less to the car days, but it still decides which canals the sampan uses. In October and November the highest tides of the year can flood riverside streets in Can Tho; on those dates we may move the evening walk or the boat time.

Changing your plans

Before you confirm, everything can change and each version is priced again in full. After you confirm, a change of date or party size is handled by email; whether it costs anything depends on how close to the day it is and what has already been committed, as set out in your written quote. Cruise passengers whose ship changes berth or hours should tell us as soon as they know: a move from a city berth to Phu My changes the whole plan.

If something on this page is unclear for your trip, the contact page explains what to include in your first message.

Common questions

Questions travellers ask most

How early do we need to reserve?

For a speedboat day or the Can Tho night, a few weeks ahead is comfortable, more around Tet and holidays. Shorter notice is possible; send the form and we will say what is still available.

Can we book for tomorrow?

Sometimes, for a car day. Speedboats and Can Tho hotels are harder at short notice. Send the form with the date and we will reply with what can be done.

What if the speedboat cannot run on our day?

We tell you the day before and offer the car version, a new date, or cancellation on the terms in your written quote.

Do you need our passport details?

Yes, at confirmation. Boat operators and ports ask for passenger details before departure.
